THE VOYAGERS PAUSE
The naked willow sits by the pond shading tiered voyager.
The trip is not done and the trek was long and hard.
He opens up his mind and ponders upon the voyage.
The turns he made, the friends he left behind.
The love he made, her wisdom and friendship.
He looks at the ring he wears from her,
wondering if he made good decisions.
The voyager looks around at the snow.
Christmas is upon him.
He pulls out a cigarette and lights it,
and as he puffs he remembers the joy.
His heart skips when he hears her voice.
Looking around he finds that he is alone.
It was all in his mind, a cruel trick.
He smiles as he remembers her.
The talks they had, and the fun.
He cries as he remembers her.
The fights and the arguments.
The voyager butts out his smoke.
He stands and begins his trip again.
Not knowing were the path is taking him.
